Ukrainian is an East Slavic language. It is the official state language of Ukraine and first of two principal languages of Ukrainians.

Ukrainian nouns belong to one of three genders: masculine, feminine and neuter. There are seven cases: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental, locative and vocative.
