Etymology
1. c.1280, from O.Fr.

conjurare "to swear together, conspire," from
com- "together" +

2. From Middle English conjuren, from Old French conjurer, from Latin coniūrō (“to swear together; conspire”), from con- (“with, together”) + iūro (“to swear or take an oath”). See: Middle English '

coniūrō'.
